The Journey Begins

Prompted by an inner yearning to step out of my comfort zone, in May 2017, I set a personal goal of spending two weeks on the Camino de Santiago. A divorced empty-nester turning 50, the Camino was my way of celebrating this significant birthday and marking the beginning of the next chapter of my life. Nine months of planning, saving, researching, exercising, and amassing the needed supplies all came to fruition when I left Canada for Madrid on March 27, 2018.

I could never have anticipated the magnitude of the impact of this venture. The two-week pilgrimage and the Camino itself forever changed me in countless ways.

Although the Camino may have been my first trekking expedition, it will not be my last!  I look forward to sharing my experiences, insights, and inspirations gained on the Camino as well as of other future walking adventures.
